Bob and Mal Sedergreen are well known jazz and blues identities in Melbourne’s live music scene. Both have performed locally and internationally at concerts and major jazz festivals. Ivan Rosa is an experienced, driving and empathetic bassist whose association with Bob, spans decades, involving many live gigs, residencies and recordings.

Mark Voogd is a popular drummer due to his ability to handle most musical situations but especially his affinity of propulsive jazz time a la Jimmy Cobb.

Bob’s special guest, Rohan Wallis is, perhaps one of Melbourne’s most eclectic musicians. A handy trumpeter/flugelhornist, a swinging and relaxed vocal delivery and in demand DJ. His influences include as well as jazz, electronic music and progressive and post-modern music. Rohan always connects with his audience.

Iconic Melbourne Jazz pianist, Bob Sedergreen loves to be the lynch pin presenting musicians who deserve to be recognised. On bass, Clive Harrison with a wonderful and impressive track record, of performances in Australia and internationally. On drums Mark Voogd, a versatile, empathetic, and tasteful player who responds perfectly to his fellow musicians.

On this night on trumpet and vocals you can hear jazz royalty, Paul Coyle and Mal Sedergreen, powerful musicians who play with honesty and intensity. Both have toured internationally and played in ground-breaking bands. Paul with Bomba and The Melbourne Ska Orchestra and Mal with Jimmy Witherspoon, Mistaken Identity, Art Attack and Blues on the Boil.

The music of the night will reflect the eclectic tastes of all five players. A night not to be missed.

Whether she’s moaning’ a blues, bringing to life a Billie Holliday classic, singing a well-known standard or a soul serenade Jacki Gaudion is a singer for all occasions. Always demure and classy with soulful husky tones that can build to intensity when required. Currently getting rave reviews singing with Peter Gaudions Blues Express. Jacki was also part of the infamous Six of The Best project working alongside Bob and drummer Sonja Horbelt.

Jacki has appeared on the ABC series Jazz As Now singing alongside Jazz great Nat Adderley. Appearing with Bob are two longtime colleagues, Gareth Hill on bass and Sam Young on drums. All three are foundation members of the band BLOW and Gareth and Bob have spent many years in the iconic Ted Vining Trio. This group have a wonderful friendship and musical understanding.

It’s been a few months since the warm, articulate tones of tenor saxophonist Savannah Blount last wowed audiences at the Lido Jazz Room. Joining her is the legendary pianist Bob Sedergreen, whose decades-long contribution to Australian jazz continues to inspire. Guitarist Nick Brown brings blues-infused flair, bassist Jon Chidgey and drummer Gordon Pendleton complete this powerhouse lineup. Expect an evening of swing, soul, and blues, combining virtuosity, storytelling, and the joyful spontaneity that defines live jazz.

Amelia Evans is a gifted vocalist who comes from a musical family. Amelia describes Melbourne jazz pianist, Bob Sedergreen, as her “musical uncle”. In fact, they have worked together many times, their empathy being apparent on Amelia’s debut CD, The First Song. You can catch Amelia, at a multitude of gigs working with her own bands. Blakely McLean Davies holds the bass chair in all Amelia’s current groups and has emerged as an in-demand bassist around Melbourne.

Bob and Sonja Horbelt - drums - recorded their debut album “The First One “in 2002 and have been working together ever since.
